In my kit I prefer powder highlight and when I do use liquid I use the Kyrolan Shimmering Event Foundation in Silver or Pearl under the foundation for a lit-from-within glow. That’s a bit strong for every day and I wanted to find a liquid highlighter that I could use on a regular basis. Enter L’Oreal True Match Highlight.

L'Oreal True Match Highlighter

I bought both shades as Boots was holding one of their Buy One Get Another Half Price deals.

Shade 102D/102W is called Golden Glow and is a amber/ gold toned highlighter, while shade 301R/ 301C is called Icy Glow and is a pink-toned shade. These are very pigmented but can be worn subtly if used sparingly. For purposes of swatches I went heavy to start with and swatched a few times with different intensity/ level of blending.

Texture-wise it feels similar to the Kryolan Shimmering Event Foundation. Simialrly, it does set quickly, so you have to work fast when blending it in for a more natural effect.

The pink shade is obviously too light for my golden brown skintone, but I expected that. I bought both shades for completeness really (obsessive much?). The gold shade is the one that I was most interested in. Worn underneath foundation or BB cream, it gives me a lovely glow from within. When worn atop my cheekbones and blended well, it gives a beautiful natural sunlight effect highlight. I’m loving this and only wish it was available earlier in Spring so that I could have rocked it all Summer.
