A quick post today to highlight a great little budget beauty find. It’s been over a decade since I last used make-up from Boots Natural Collection, but for basics, they’re pretty good for the price.

I get through a lot of mascara when on fashion shows and on photoshoot sets (sticky fingers, double dipping, loose caps etc) and I avoid high end mascara. As I use my own preferred disposable wands to get the thickening/ lengthening/ separating (*delete as applicable) look I need, I don’t splurge on mascara for everyday work (my brides get the Dior Show and YSL treatment). My usual drugstore favourites from Maybelline and L’Oréal were out of stock so I grabbed a Boots Natural Collection Waterguard mascara instead.

It’s a really good carbon black colour and the formula is nice & smooth.  A smooth formula really helps coat the lashes nicely. Especially when using disposable wands, you want a more liquid formula that won’t dry before you’ve applied it to disposable spoolie and onto models lashes. The brush is cheap, basic brush but as I’ll be using my favourite large tapered head or hourglass spoolies, that’s not a problem for me.

Here it is on my naturally long, straight lashes. At under £2 it’s not bad really.
