Wedding season: pared-down bridal beauty – PFW6 look 1
01 Monday Sep 2014
Recently I’ve been showcasing natural beauty looks for wedding guests. This less-is-more trend doesn’t stop at just wedding guests, brides themselves are going back to basics and wanting more natural, glowing skin looks, without being made-over with a rainbow of colour. Brides are letting the clothes and jewellery do the talking, while their skin looks simply amazing.
Make-up looks at Pakistan Fashion Week London, subtitled Weddings of Asia, in June showcased beautifully simple but stunning make-up looks that let the skin and models’ natural beauty shine through. The clothes were luxuriously detailed and had all of the vibrancy of traditional Asian weddings. The hair & make-up was pared back, yet looked simply stunning.
There were 3 basic looks for the weekend shows, with only lip colour changes thereafter. Today’s post showcases the first look, Wednesday’s post will showcase Look 2, and Friday’s post will showcase Look 3.
Neutral eyes, with soft brown contouring on the eyes. Flawless skin, with subtle contouring, soft blush and a strong red Ruby Woo matte lip.
The products I used on model Dee were:
Supercover foundation, MAC Paintpot in Painterly & Constructivist, Viseart Matte neutral shadows, Illamasqua Infinity Gel Liner, Anastasia Brow Wiz, Maybelline Great Lash mascara, MAC Contour powder in Sculpt, E.L.F. Contour & Highlight quad, Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder, MAC Ruby Woo.
