Regular EyeSpyBeauty readers will know that I am a huge fan of Diya Online for all my affordable everyday Indian fashion as well as my party & wedding attire. It will be no surprise to you that I have already chosen my favourites from their new season catalogue, launched just days ago.

Without further ado, here are my top picks from the new seasons collection.

Velvet Luxe

Velvet and brocade are classic materials in any Indian wardrobe. I have a particular fondness for brocade sarees, as they can be worn dressed up for weddings or toned down for parties and dinners. I have a brocade saree in pretty much every jewel tone (I don’t really do pastels) but am absolutely loving the brocade jacket look worn over a plain black kameeze suit. I could also pair this brocade jacket with a plain saree for a more current look

That leads me nicely on to the two satin sarees with velvet jackets. I have worn satin sarees back in the 90’s when they were popular. They are comfortable to wear but really tricky to pin and to keep looking sleek without being tight. Tight satin is never a good look. The jacket styling gets around both of those issues, as it will hide any pins (and pinholes too!) as well as hiding any tightness around the rear.

Rounding up my favourites is the velvet kameeze. A classic long-line cut with a contrast belt to define the waist and breaks up the block colour. Velvet is quick a heavy look and so the gold net dupatta is a perfect pairing to add both colour and texture to the overall look.
