Immigrant. Disabled. Deaf. Self-employed. Working parent. Divorced. Hijabi. Single mother. Asian. Muslim. Woman. Part-timer.

These are my labels. Rather than try and shake off the tags, I wear them with pride. I am proud to have gone through adversity, marginalisation, disability, family breakdown, racism… and to have come out the other side stronger, tougher, improved. Call me Tas 2.0.

Or not. I’m still the old me but I have found my inner power, the strength inside. All very poetic isn’t it? Well, it’s been a long hard slog but I’ve made it.

I’ve been writing this blog for about four years now showing everyone a glimpse of my life as a make-up artist and blogger. What you don’t see is the behind the scenes me. The me that struggles through life and all its challenges.

So, I am a full-time mother, part-time accountant, part-time make-up artist and part-time blogger. I do each of these with varying success and success fluctuates in each of these spheres from week to week. I don’t excel at everything but do well enough in each sphere to keep myself happy and fulfilled.

Life isn’t always peachy, and I’ll be sharing some more personal lifestyle stories to give you an insight into the real me, the parts that you don’t see in the perfectly crafted blog images and sneak peeks into the glamorous world of being a make-up artist.

I will be doing these as YouTube videos as well as blog posts as I want to reach as many people as I can. I hope that sharing my struggle helps inspire others and at the very least, it can show people that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope to share some of my experiences as a single mother, talk about divorce in Asian society, my hijab journey, starting a new career in make-up, racism, my disability, being a working mother mental health, fitness and weight loss… the trickier aspects of my life that I feel can help others work through their own challenges.

Let me know here or via email TasnimMUA@eyespybeauty.co.uk or twitter @TasnimMUA if there are any other aspects of my life that you’d like me to talk about.
