Make-up artist tips: storage 101

Wow! I’ve realised that I haven’t done any make-up artist type posts in quite a while, mainly because I have been pretty busy working on weddings, long days in the makeover studio and sneaking in a few photoshoots for my jewellery company (more to come on that very soon).
Here’s a quick tip on how to store lip and eye pencils on the go. If like me, you’re not a fan of clear pencil cases – I don’t like having to tip them all out or wasting time rummaging through to get the pencil I want – then here’s a quick solution. Either use a pencil roll or, my preferred method, recycle your Real Techniques brush holder/ cases.
This keeps the pencils slimline in your kit and allows easy access when you need them. I have one for lip pencils and brow pencils, and another one for eyeliner pencils. Below are pretty much the only lipliners I need for all of my jobs, whether bridal, fashion, or media, these shades have me covered.
Believe me, when working on 10-12 faces in a day at the studio, every minute counts and you can really speed up your applications by having your kit neatly laid out and at hand.
