The G Collection by Gail Howard

This is the final part of my London Fashion Week showcase series (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 can be found here).

The final room was like entering the private boudoir of designer Gail Howard, full of stunning outfits, opulent decor, stunning jewels, all beautifully haphazard by design.

Designer Gail is fiercely proud of her Gibraltan heritage, so the venue for the fashion showcase, the former Gibraltan Embassy was all too fitting. She has emerged from the Gibraltan fashion scene in the past 18 months, winning the Runway new designer competition sponsored by Your Gibraltar TV. It was here that she was scouted by Matthew Dowling from The Freelancer Club, who then arranged this fashion showcase.

The jewelled details bring back the glamour of the twenties with modern fabrics.

This stunning full length lace dress with fringing detail is a perfect blend of 1920’s and 1980’s style. Talking to Gail about her life and her influences, her love for the 80’s is clear, and she fuses that with 1920’s, 1930’s, 1960’s and 1970’s design details. It’s an interesting melange that really shouldn’t work but just does.
