This shoot was held at the stunning Chelsea Harbour in London, where we took full advantage of the stunning location and gorgeous August sunshine.  The brief was simple, bold colours, use of light and shade, with a clear focus on the jewellery. Hassan and I spoke in advance about what I wanted to achieve with the final images, and the mood board was an essential part of getting my vision across to him.

These are the mood boards we used as inspiration. Mood boards are best used to inspire not, to recreate. I don’t shoot with any model or any team without a set of mood boards to guide the team towards the same vision.

I’m really pleased to be able to share these images with you! They were shot 2 years go for my brand, Southern Jewel. I had held the images back from release as I had wanted to submit for magazine publication. Unfortunately the hi-res images are saved on my now defunct external hard drive storage. I did however manage to find a low-res backup to share and here we are!

The shoot was held at the stunning Chelsea Harbour in London, where we took full advantage of the stunning location and gorgeous August sunshine. Here are the final images, but seriously, there were so many amazing shots, I couldn’t narrow them down to just 8, so I ended up buying the 10 most appropriate shots for my jewellery branding.

As a makeup artist working with such a stunning model you want to bust out a whole bag of makeup tricks and make your work stand out. However, as a jewellery branding shoot the focus needs to be on the jewellery, with images being aspirational for customers. This meant that simple hair and makeup was the order of the day, and the outfits chosen were complimentary to the jewellery rather than showstoppers in their own right. I loved working with such a fantastic team and couldn’t be happier with the end result.
