Autumn is a great time for new beauty launches. The past few years have seen extreme contouring products flood the market, and I’m not a fan. Regular readers will know that my style is more ‘Love the skin you’re in‘ and so I prefer true-to-skin products that make the most of your natural beauty, giving you a good-skin-day every day. That’s why I am so excited by these 3 products launching this September and can’t wait to try them!

Illamasqua Radiance Veil £32

Illamasqua Radiance Veil £32

First up, is Illamasqua’s newest addition to the Veil range (predecessors Hydraveil and Matte Veil are staples in my pro kit) – Radiance Veil. Radiance Veil is am illuminating hydrator and primer in one, with a gel texture similar to Hydraveil and Matte Veil. What makes it different to it’s predecessors is that it contains fine shimmer particles.

This is what Illamasqua’s Creative Director Alex Box has to say about Radiance Veil, “Radiance Veil is exactly what it says – a veil of beautiful light that glows and radiates. A soft peach golden tone like seeing your skin softened in candle light. Used alone it gives a polished, new born soft reflection to the skin. As a base under foundation it gives skin a feeling of a radiant inner glow.

Radiance Veil launches on 10th September 2015.

Smashbox BB Water £29

Smashbox BB Water £29

Next up is the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water, yes that’s what I said, BB Water, with SPF30. Really? Hmm, intriguing. What is it? It’s an oil-free water-based foundation, much like the Maybelline Dream Fluid foundation, or L’Oreal Nude Magique Fluid foundation but with added BB benefits, and importantly for me, a much better shade range for women of colour. Yay! It only has 8 shades, but covers more shades on the darker end of the spectrum than the high street/ drugstore brands like L’Oreal or Maybelline, in the UK anyway.

Here’s the marketing blurb: Your skin needs a drink. Meet our first and only BB with a water-like texture that delivers multiple benefits in just one drop. Why get wet? Our built-in primer water technology means a liquid silk-consistency—it literally glides onto your face, blends easily and moves with your skin. Because it’s alcohol-free, there is no drying, cracking or caking during wear. The ultra-hydrating, oil-free formula also creates a sheer, radiant finish that makes you really love your skin in every conceivable light. Here come the compliments.

MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation £25.50

MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation £25.50

Finally is a product from MAC, a brand that I am actually not massively fond of in my kit but I do think that it is perfectly fine for consumers, and it’s their Studio Waterweight foundation that has caught my attention. This is a thin gel-formula foundation with a focus on all-day hydration combined with an elastic gel-serum texture. With a glass dropper applicator it is reminiscent of Cover FX’s Custom Colour Drops, but is a much more sheer and natural finish foundation. It comes in 23 shades in the standard MAC NC and NW ranges so it’s easy to find the right shade for you.

Here’s what MAC say about the product launch: “Introducing an innovative foundation that delivers colour in an ultra-fluid, elastic gel- serum formula. With a virtually weightless feel, this hydrating formula is extraordinarily comfortable, lasting for hours. With stay-true colour and sheer medium buildable coverage, it softly blurs imperfections such as pores and fine lines. The unique dropper provides you with a drop of perfection.
