Last Monday I worked on my first street shoot for Fabulans London, an Asian party wear online clothing retailer. Working again with photographer and co-creator of the Fabulans brand, Nick Hooper (portfolio here), and our lovely model Candy (profile here), the day was an action packed and exciting shoot. The location selected for our first street shoot was Somerset House, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of London Fashion Week.

[The morning was spent shooting model headshots and portfolio images. I’ll post a few images and products used in a separate blog piece. ]

The first outfit was a stunning vibrant yellow anarkali kameeze with churidar trousers. The yellow net fabric is offset by striking purple embroidery along the bodice and the sleeves. It’s a colour for the bold and brave but looks really stunning on tanned or dark complexions.   At Somerset House, Candy turned heads in this stunning outfit and the make-up really complemented rather than competed with the outfit. We were approached by many fashionistas, bloggers, street-style photographers, and other guests just coming out of the catwalk shows.

The second outfit for Fabulans was a bold, red anarkali with green contrast borders and gold embroidery and accents. This received similar attention from the crowds at Somerset House, with a number of street-style photographers papping away as Nick shot his own images.
