Eyes are the first place that starts to show your age as you move out of your twenties. Your skin loses elasticity here first and then fine lines start to appear around the outer corners of your eyes.

Now I don’t mean to brag but… I’m well into my thirties and my eyes don’t give it away at all. Not a crease or wrinkle in sight and no crows feet.

What’s my secret? No secret. I’m just religious about maintaining skin hydration, especially around the eyes. I never skip face or eye cream. Ever.

In the dry summer months I’ve been needing a cooling fix as well as hydrating.  I tried this little baby at my sisters house one evening when my eyes were feeling particularly dry and tight and it just hit the spot.

I was even happier when she told me she’d rarely used it and let me have it. Result!

I’ve been using a rice grain sized amount twice daily and its cooling effect is just what I need after a day spent staring at my computer. A teeny rice grain is all you need, and you should lightly pat along the socket bone (top & bottom) and out to the outer corners of the eyes.

Gels have that wonderful cooling effect (perfect for fatigued skin) that you don’t get with creams. I also love that it is non-greasy and absorbs almost instantly into my skin. I find that I can put my makeup on straight away in the mornings (although I barely wear anything on my eyes, just translucent powder, and I tight line my upper waterline).

I’ve been using this twice daily all summer, and you can see that there is still loads left. A little really goes a long way when it comes to eye creams.

This gel is unperfumed and uncoloured, which makes it perfect on sensitive skin. I don’t have sensitive skin but I generally hate skincare products that are too heavily scented. I just find fragranced skincare distracting as they fight with my perfume for attention.

If you’re a little slack with your eye creams, try this super-easy to apply eye gel and you’ll love the cooling yet hydrating little treat.
