Clarks Botanicals Marine Cream

The Clarks Botanicals Marine Cream is a high end moisturiser with a price tag to match. At £92 for 50ml, it’s probably the most expensive thing I’ve put on my face… aside from my diamond nose stud, but that’s in my face if you know what I mean, so doesn’t really count. So does the Marine Cream live up to the luxury price tag?

Purported benefits:

Smoothing Marine Cream gently exfoliates, intensely moisturises, and boosts skin’s collagen production leaving you with baby soft skin. Glycolic Acid and Algae Extracts also banish fine lines, while Jasmine Absolute reduces redness and inflammation.

The Glycolic Acid in this cream tingles gently as it exfoliates and boosts your skin’s natural collagen production. Glycolic Acid will also increase your skin’s natural production of Hyaluronic Acid, the body’s natural, water-trapping molecule which diminishes with age.

This cream will combat dryness while boosting the skin’s defense against ageing. The Glycolic molecules are wrapped in soothing ingredients like Algae and Yeast Extracts to make it extra gentle.

Skincare has become a huge focus for me this past year, and so when Space NK gave me a selection of high end skincare samples, I was really excited to see how they would perform. This was another little gem from the Space NK samples. I was away for a trip the following weekend and so popped this into my weekend beauty bag to try out while I was away.

Marine cream is an uncoloured cream with a light texture. It’s easily absorbed into the skin and makes skin feel hydrated and refreshed. Marine Cream has a light, gentle scent that adds to the fresh feeling. The bounce in the skin is noticeable, and is still there after a few hours. That gives an indication that the skin is still fresh and hydrated throughout the day.

With regular use, I could probably skip my serum, as the Marine Cream contains red algae and Hyaluronic acid, both of which are the active ingredients in my serum. Over time I would expect to see the anti-ageing effects, but sadly as I only had a sample and don’t have a spare £92, it only lasted a month. That said, this month I’ve had the best skin ever.
