Recently I’ve had a run of photo shoots with some great models working outside of their ‘usual’ styles.

Each and every one rocked their shoots!

Here’s a few unedited sneak peeks from a recent shoot, with Lauren Lee-Bowers, who is ‘usually’ more of a fashion & lingerie model.

Products used

Skincare: Waterbalm by Sonia Roselli Beauty, Dr Lipp Nipple Balm for Lips

Eyes: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creme de Nude, applied lightly and buffed into eyelids as a base, with the lighter blue shade from the Viseart Editorial Brights palette blended over the top of the base and lightly into the socket. Darker blue shade from Editorial Brights palette was applied to the centre of the lids and blended outwards, before taking the deepest navy blue from the Viseart Matte Darks 04 palette and applying to outer corner of the eyes, and running under the lower lashline. Collection Clear Gel mascara on lashes & brows. Kryolan White creme liner along top lashline, and a slick of Collection black mascara on top and bottom lashes.

Lips: OCC Lip Tar in Pretty Boy.

Face: Bobbi Brown corrector in Light Bisque and cream foundation in Beige (both from BBU palette), Kiko Velvet Stick Contour in 06, Ben Nye creme blush wheel, Ben Nye powder in Bella04, Hourglass Incandescent Light highlighter (from Ambient Light Palette).

I had the general idea that I wanted to clash bold eyes with bold lips but hadn’t planned the colours to use. When Lauren came to the shoot with these fabulous electric blue nails, I knew the eyes had to be blue.

I considered different shades for the lip, as blue and pink seem too obvious as a bold contrast, but to be honest, they go so well together in this 80’s style colour clash, that I really couldn’t resist.

Add the tousled and volumised hairstyle, and I was taken back to 1982, the year of my birth, reinvented for the ‘Twenteens’ (is that what were calling this decade? Post-noughties? Post-Millennial? I’m so confused!?!)

My advice? Be bold and try something new. You won’t regret it!

I’d love to see your ‘out of the box’ shoots and creative ideas! Or if you’re heading out for Christmas parties rockingĀ  electric blue and fuchsia, I wanna see it!
