Beauty Boxes are all the rage, and I’ve tried a couple, only to be wowed by the first month and feeling disappointed thereafter. I stopped my various subscriptions after 1 year, but recently signed up to a 6 months half-price Birchbox sub. I thought it couldn’t hurt, and at £30 for 6 months, I had very little to lose.

Here’s a look at the items from first 2 boxes…

… not bad.  A nice selection of new products to try. I got bored of my Glossybox as the products were often from bands I knew of and loved or hated and avoided. I wanted to discover new brands, and so far Birchbox has that covered, with the exception of Benefit Porefessional (but I needed another one so it’s okay).

The Beauty Blender and sample of the cleanser this month was particularly impressive. This is a small size Beauty Blender, and so isn’t really a £26 value, as the Birchbox insert claims, but it’s still worth well above the Birchbox sub price of £10 per box. I was keen to try the Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream anyway, so it’s a nice timely addition.

September Birchbox: AGAVE Healing Oil Treatment, BENEFIT It’s Potent Eye Cream, SKIN & CO Sicilian Light Serum, MODELCO Lip Lacauer in Morocco, BEAUTY BLENDER sponge and Solid Cleanser, and URBAN FRUIT Pineapple chunks

I’ll be posting individual reviews of some of these items over the next few weeks, but so far I’m happy with the sample.
